It started in Brooklyn, circa 2015. I wanted fresh food, but my apartment had little space and limited light. My “garden” began as a chaotic collection of pots on a fire escape, fighting for sun between skyscrapers.
I wanted to grow more in that small space and optimize the setup.
I moved from soil to hydroponics, turning a cramped apartment into a high-efficiency grow lab. I built custom grow shelves, dialed in nutrient solutions, and treated photosynthesis like code—something to be debugged and improved.
Today, my lab is in Miami, where the subtropical climate lets us grow year-round. I now practice outdoor permaculture and food forestry, and I still run high-performance indoor systems. I believe data-controlled systems can make growing food at home accessible to anyone, even in a living room.
